The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) announced that Ruby J. Paris, RN has achieved Certified Diabetes Educator (CDEï¾®) status by successfully completing the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators.
Candidates must meet rigorous credential and professional practice experience requirements to be eligible to take the examination.
Achieving the CDE credential demonstrates that Paris
possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for patients with diabetes.
There are currently more than 14,000 diabetes educators who hold the CDE credential.
Paris serves as the Patient Education Coordinator for The Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic and previously served for many years as a Registered Nurse in the hospitals Pre-Admission Testing Department.
She has been with the hospital for 33 years after having graduated from The Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.
