Ms. Helsley has been with McCormick Barstow since 1997 and is a member of the Litigation Practice Group.
civil litigation practice includes representing employers with claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour violations.
also defends employers in administrative agency proceedings and investigations.
has also successfully handled a number of contract disputes, business litigation and personal injury matters.
In addition to handling employment, contract, business litigation and personal injury matters, Ms. Helsley
has extensive experience in all facets of insurance coverage counseling and litigation including but not limited to, drafting coverage opinion and position letters, preparing policyholders' releases, drafting policy language and joint powers agreements and defending and prosecuting bad faith and declaratory relief cases.
has also developed an expertise in analyzing attorney billings and has reviewed over $300 million dollars in attorney invoices.
has handled a wide array of complex insurance claims in the hundreds of millions of dollars for numerous insurers, risk financing entities and policyholders.
Ms. Helsley was also the Chairperson for the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practice Group for a number of years and has served as the Practice Group's Vice Chairperson.
is admitted to practice law in the State of California and all U.S. District Courts of California.
Ms. Helsley is currently a member of the State Bar of California, Fresno County Bar Association, Fresno County Women Lawyers Association, Association of Defense Counsel, and Filipino Bar Association of Northern California.
Ms. Helsley was the past president of the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association and served as a Board Member from 2000 to 2006.
Ms. Helsley also served as a Board Member for the Fresno County Bar Association and Fresno County Women Lawyers Association.
Ms. Helsley serves on the Board of Directors for the Fresno/Madera Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society.
Ms. Helsley also participates in various firm-sponsored programs/events with McLane High School and is currently the Chairperson for the Student/Job Shadowing program and a member of the Scholarship Committee.
