Ms. Helsley has been with McCormick Barstow since 1997 and is a member of the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practice Group.
Prior to joining McCormick Barstow, Ms. Helsley served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Illston, District Court Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
has extensive experience in all facets of insurance coverage counseling and litigation, including, but not limited to, drafting coverage opinion and position letters, preparing policyholders' releases, drafting policy language and joint powers agreements and defending and prosecuting bad faith and declaratory relief cases.
has also developed an expertise in analyzing attorney billings and has analyzed over $300 million dollars in attorney invoices.
has handled a wide array of complex insurance claims in the hundreds of millions of dollars for numerous insurers, risk financing entities and policyholders.
Ms. Helsley is also the Chairperson for the Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Practice Group, which has over 30 attorneys, and served as the Practice Group's Vice Chairperson from 2002 to 2005.
is admitted to practice law in the State of California and all U.S. District Courts of California.
Ms. Helsley is currently a member of the State Bar of California, Fresno County Bar Association, Fresno County Women Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Association of Defense Counsel, and Filipino Bar Association of Northern California.
Ms. Helsley was the past president of the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association and served as a Board Member from 2000 to 2006.
Ms. Helsley also served as a Board Member for the Fresno County Bar Association and Fresno County Women Lawyers Association.
Ms. Helsley serves on the Board of Directors for the Fresno/Madera Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society.
Ms. Helsley also participates in various firm-sponsored programs/events with McLane High School and is currently the Chairperson for the Student/Job Shadowing program and a member of the Scholarship Committee.
