Dr. Drayfus Gomez Trotter was born on September 18, 1949, in Montgomery, Alabama to Walter and Rosie L. Trotter.
Dr. Trotter is a graduate of Alabama State University also in Montgomery, Alabama.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.
On July 17, 1988, Dr. Trotter
was ordained at Good Hope Christian Center Inc
by Dr. Charles L. Macklin of Carson, California.
public ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1975.
He is now the pastor and founder of the Joy Christian Center Church . He was a keynote speaker for the "Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast" hosted by the prestigious Los Angeles Alleluia Voices in 1996.
In 1988, he
was the leader of a "HEARTBEAT FOR THE WORLD" crusade.
Also, in 1988, he
received a proclamation from the former Governor of the state of Alabama
, Guy Hunt, and was given the Key to the City of Montgomery for his
many contributions to his
local community and state.

has three adult children; Reginald Renard, Stacy O'mar, and Stephanie Elaine are all married and have families of their own.
Incidentally, Dr. Trotter
performed the wedding ceremonies for two of his children, his middle son, Stacy O'mar and his only daughter, Stephanie Elaine.
