Anchorage Daily News | TRAVEL: Pilots descend on Dawson for annual fly-in
"It's kind of squishy," said Girdwood chiropractor Rosemary Zimmerman, who flew up to Dawson with her husband, Dr. Mark Zimmerman.
In recognition of her odd accomplishment, Rosemary received a certificate and got to sign the book of Sour Toe imbibers. Aside from historic buildings and coffee shops, Dawson is a wonderful town to walk in.There's a beautiful walk along the banks of the Yukon River that winds past the Keno and the visitor center. Most fly-in participants meet at Jenkins' reception before heading over to the annual melodrama presentation at the Palace Grande Theater. Then it's off to Diamond Tooth Gertie's casino to test your luck or to see the dancing girls.
