Dr. Rong Bai is an associate professor of clinical cardiology with extensive experience in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is an expert in both catheter ablation and device implantation, including cardiac resynchronization therapy.
Dr. Bai completed his Doctorate of Medicine training in China at the prestigious Huazhong University of Science and Technology (former Tong-Ji Medical University). Following medical school, he stayed to work at Tong-Ji Hospital as an associate consultant in the Division of Cardiology.
Dr. Bai utilizes his clinical background and previous research experience to engage in advanced research. Prior to joining Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute as a research fellow, he was involved in training and scientific research at several prestigious and highly experienced centers including Singapore National Heart Centre; University of Insubria and University of Pavia in Italy; Asklepios Klinik St. George in Hamburg, Germany; and Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr. Bai received his diploma of Master di II Livello in Electrofisiologia ed Electtrostimolazione Cardiaca in 2006.
Dr. Bai's primary research interests include catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac devices in the management of complex tachyarrhythmias and heart failure, as well as inherited arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death.
He is a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, and a member of Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society and Chinese Heart Rhythm Society.
Dr. Bai is the author or co-author of over 18 book chapters, more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and approximately 100 abstracts. He is a peer reviewer of articles for a number of journals, including Circulation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, Clinical Cardiology, Annals of Internal Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, etc. Dr. Bai is frequently invited to lecture at national and international medical and scientific meetings and seminars.
