"In order to have a scholarship that is classified as [an] endowed scholarship, it has to have a minimum contribution of $30,000," said Ron Seamons an assistant dean of the Marriott School of Management.
The class contributed enough of their personal funds, around $5,000, and the dean of the Marriott School
committed to match its contribution 5-to-1 from the money raised by the annual fund, Seamons
While most donors are alumni or even continuing students of the Marriott School
, other donors exist who give of both their time and their money in support of enhancing the students' education who aren't even members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
"They [non-LDS donors] have come to appreciate the quality of the education that is presented here, and the caliber of the students," Seamons
Whether a donor is a student who gives a little, or an alumni or a friend of the Marriott School
who chooses to give a lot, they both have one thing in common: the more they learn to give, the more they learn to value others more than themselves, Seamons
