Shreve Memorial Library Director Ron Heezen, in his sixth month in charge, sees one of his first major goals for the Caddo system about to become reality.
That is moving the library system further into the Information Age by offering downloadable digital content, including books, music and movies.
"We should be unveiling that program within several weeks," said Heezen
, who follows nearly three decades of leadership under Jim Pelton.
"We also will begin offering people the chance to sign up for online book clubs for which they will receive five minutes of reading from a newly published book in their e-mail inbox each day," Heezen
ABOUT RON HEEZEN
has worked in libraries for 38 years, including 35 years in public libraries.
He has been a library director since 1983.
has worked in communities with populations as small as 35,000 and as large as 2 million.
has taught library management, human resources, budgeting and English at the college level.
