Dear 'Fred from Benton':
I agree that it would be great to see believers actually unite together and focus on the 95% that we all agree on, instead of arguing about the 5% where we differ. At the same time, I don't see a real problem with groups of Christians gathering at various sites, in different buildings. Consider them 'missionary outposts' scattered throughout our area, bringing the presence of Christ
For 15 years I pastored 'two churches at a time'. The buildings were five miles apart, and I did double duty providing studies, worship, meetings for both congregations. After a year-long intensive Bible Study that included folks from both congregations, I was moved by the statement of a man who had taken part when he
said, "In the all the years I've attended this church, I've thought we were two Churches that shared a Pastor. Now I understand that we are one Church that meets in two locations!" May we long for the day when Christian believers will set aside differences, to celebrate the reality that we are - in Christ - One Church
that meets in many locations.
