Jacksonville builder and FHBA Past President Ron Coppenbarger finally gave in. After being wooed by national builders for year, Coppenbarger has sold his company to Standard Pacific Corporation, which has built more than 59,000 homes in its 37-year history."Standard Pacific shares many of the core values upon which Coppenbarger Homes was founded and will provide the company with a solid foundation to take full advantage of our long-standing relationships in the Jacksonville area," said Coppenbarger.Coppenbarger Homes was founded in 1984 and became one of the Top Ten largest builders in Jacksonville and 259th largest in the nation.The company builds around 300 homes each year.In 2002, Coppenbarger was honored by FHBA as Florida's Builder of the Year.

SEBC Chair George Hansford and FHBA Past President Ron Coppenbarger played Santa in the exhibit hall, handing out gifts to the winners of prize drawings.

Ron Coppenbarger , FHBA President installed the 2001 CBIA Board , 2001 SMC Board and the 2001 Remodelors Council Board.He also presented Gemma Wilson of London Bay Homes with a Merit Award for assistance with the 2000 Excel & Aurora Awards.
Former CBIA President Augie Longo swore in CBIA's new president , his
son , Dino Longo.Longo was_back at the podium delivering a rousing acceptance speech as he
embarks upon the 2001 presidency.Dino carries with him into office a concept he
noticed painted on the side of a tractor-trailer he
saw driving down the road , Success in the present is based on faith of the future. I stand in front of you all as your president , because someone had faith of the future , Longo stated.
Longo concluded his
speech with the introduction of the evening's entertainment , local favorites Powerhaus.This high-energy band packed the dance floor with guests who boogied until almost midnight.Costumed characters interacted with guests and prevented anyone in attendance from taking their seats.
The leadership and staff of CBIA would like to thank everyone who participated in this wonderful event.A special thanks to CBIA Special Events Director , Carri Adam , for another great event.It was a long-time in planning but in the end we felt this banquet demonstrates the level of events and leadership that you can continue to expect from CBIA in the new Millennium.
