The program will occur on Sunday the 12th of October at Victoria University commencing at 1.10pm and will be presented by Romeo Salla, an experienced teacher, examination assessor and former Economist. Romeo will assist students to prepare for the examination and write responses in a way that enables them to perform at their peak and impress the examination assessors.

Romeo Salla completed Honours and Masters degrees in Commerce (Economics major) at the University of Melbourne before moving to Canberra to work as an Economist with the Commonwealth Department of Treasury. After a few years he was promoted within the federal bureaucracy to the position of Senior Economist with the Industry Commission (now Productivity Commission). Since 1996 he has been employed as a Senior Teacher and Head of Faculty at large private schools in Melbourne, and currently teaches VCE and IB Economics at Geelong Grammar School. He has held positions of responsibility with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) as an examination assessor since 1996 and was the long standing Economics editor on the VCTA website (ComNET). Mr Salla is also the founder of the websitewww.economicstutor.com.au as well as the popular smartphone app 'economicstutor', has contributed to various publications and regularly presents to economics teachers and students on behalf of the VCTA. Romeo is the author of the CPAP Study Guide to VCE Economics, co-author of Monumental Humanities 3 (Cambridge), and co-author of the VCE Economics texts 'Economic Fundamentals in Australia' and 'Economics: from the ground up'. He is also the writer of CPAP Economics assessment tasks and the practice examination.

Mr Romeo Salla holds Honours and Masters degrees in Commerce (Economics Major) from the University of Melbourne, Victoria. In the early 1990's, he worked as an economist with both the Commonwealth Department of Treasury in Canberra, as well as the Industry Commission (now Productivity Commission) in Melbourne.
From 1995, he completed his Diploma of Education at Monash University and then commenced teaching VCE Economics. He taught at Scotch College, Hawthorn, in 1996, before moving to St Michael's Grammar, St Kilda, where he was Head of Department. Between 2000 - 2005 he taught at Mazenod College, Mulgrave, where he was Head of Commerce and between 2006-2008 he was employed by Mater Christi College, Belgrave, as VCE Coordinator and senior Economics and Accounting teacher. He is currently a teacher of economics at Geelong Grammar School.
Since his move to the education sector, Mr Salla has been prominent in advancing the interests of the economics discipline in the Victorian Curriculum and he has continued to undertake professional development to ensure that he can provide the best possible quality of education to the students he both teaches and tutors.
Mr Salla has assessed end of year examination papers since 1996 and presents Student Lectures on an annual basis at the University of Melbourne and RMIT on behalf of the CPAP (click on the Student Lectures button for details about the CPAP Course Revision and Examination Preparation Lectures in October 2010). A full day workshop is also being conducted during the first week of the September school holidays. Click on the following link for details: Workshop Â
