Get Ahead: Scovil's 7 Rules for Success in Management
Mr. Scovil is a very active "retired" executive with 46 years of professional experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing and management. Since 1966, he has been involved in international business and has lived in Puerto Rico, Belgium, Germany and Saudi Arabia. He has conducted daily business in English, Spanish, German and French.
In 1997 he retired as President of Lockwood Greene International where he was also a member of the Operating Board of Lockwood Greene Engineers, a consulting, design and construction firm with $240 million in sales. He was President of Polysius Corporation, a $100 million process equipment designer and supplier for the cement and mining industries, from 1981 to 1988. Polysius is a North American subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp AG of Germany.
Prior to joining Polysius, Scovil served 17 years with Daniel Construction Company and Fluor Daniel. In 1966 he established Daniel's Latin American operation, which grew to 4,000 employees. In 1974 he became Managing Director of Daniel's European Division and in 1976 established the Middle Eastern division with a joint venture management contract for the $12 billion Jeddah International Airport.
Mr. Scovil is a member of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center Atlanta, and a former board member of The North Carolina State Engineering Foundation and the Atlanta International Club, Chair of the World Trade Club, Inc. (Georgia) board of directors and Chairman Emeritus of the Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Georgia Tech Chapter of the AIESEC international student organization, and has served on advisory boards of the Southern Center for International Studies, AmericasMart and Apogee Marketing International. He was a member of the North Georgia District Export Council and Georgia Writers and an associate member of the Georgia Speakers Association. He also participated in the Export Georgia program and is a frequent lecturer on management and international business.
Roger Scovil is author of Get Ahead - Scovil's Seven Rules for Success in Management (Longstreet Press, 2001). He and his wife live in Atlanta near their three children and four grandchildren.

Mr. Scovil was President of Lockwood Greene International prior to his retirement. He is a frequent speaker on leadership and international business and conducts corporate and institutional seminars. He is Chairman of the World Trade Club, the operating subsidiary of the World Trade Center Atlanta and serves on a number of business and volunteer boards.
