managed all resolutions of large thrift institutions in the Western United States, and acted as team leader for the development and implementation of resolution policy.For the two prior years, Mr. Lerner was the Regional Director, Mergers and Acquisitions Division of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation.His
work included leading FSLIC teams which completed multi-billion dollar case resolutions.
Mr. Lerner's pension practice involves a number of aspects of pension law.From 1979 to 1988, he
was first a bankruptcy attorney and then Executive Assistant to the General Counsel of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
(PBGC), the Federal agency that insures the Nation's largest private pension plans.At the PBGC, Mr. Lerner served as lead counsel in the then largest bankruptcy case in the Agency's history.Mr. Lerner
was also active in the realization of the Agency's legislative agenda. Mr. Lerner received a J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law, Saint Louis (1979) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University, Washington, DC (1976).He was a member of the Washington University Law Quarterly (law review).
