Rodney English, head coach for Chattanooga Rail Runners, awarded 2014 CBA Coach of the Year
05/28/2014, 10:30am CDT By CBA Staff The Central Basketball Association is pleased to announce that the 2014 Coach of the Year has been awarded to Rodney English, head coach for the Chattanooga Rail Runners. English led Chattanooga to an 8-2 regular season record, the top seed in the post-season, along with the 2014 regular season conference title. Outside of the CBA, English has been adding to his coaching resume, as he was recently hired as the boys head coach for East Hamilton High School. Prior to that, he was the former men's assistant coach for NCAA Division-I, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (2006-2008), and the former women's assistant coach for NCAA Division-I, East Tennessee State University (2003-2006). English was also a former player at East Tennessee State University (1990-1992), and played internationally in France, China, as well as with the Harlem Globetrotters. Through the earning of this Coach of the Year award, English will look to not only recruit a new class of players for the 2015 CBA season, but also look to build on the success and experience on the court this season to win Chattanooga's first championship title next season. Coach of the Year Award 2014: Rodney English (Chattanooga Rail Runners): 8-2 regular season record, regular season champion, 8-3 overall season record

"Sergio does that for us," East Hamilton coach Rodney English said.
Following last Friday's tough 70-64 loss at Bradley Central, English emphatically said his team would never play that poorly the rest of the season. Against the Owls, the improved play was clearly visible. "I let my distaste for the way they approached the Bradley game linger right up to the tip for today's game," English said.
