And it's a joy to welcome the newest member of the Board, Robin Hoagland, CSB, of Hyannis, Massachusetts, USA.
No doubt many of you already know Robin
writing and lecturing, and if not, click here to enjoy a Daily Lift about Christmas that Robin
grew up in Minnesota in a deeply Christian home-one parent actively involved in the Christian Science
church and the other in another local church-and was blessed by a broad exposure to faith traditions in her
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Williams College with a BA in English literature and as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
During college, she spent two summers working as an intern at The Mother Church, first in Security and then at the Monitor.
After college she worked in publishing, public radio, and freelance writing while raising two children, and soon committed full-time to sharing this Science with others.
In 1999 Robin began advertising as a practitioner in The Christian Science Journal, and in 2006 became a teacher of Christian Science.
In addition to actively serving her community as a member of her local Christian Science church, she has also served in interfaith and ecumenical activities including at the local, state and national levels of Church Women United, coached her children's soccer teams, visited shut-ins in her community, volunteered her time to post-Hurricane Katrina clean-up efforts, and helped with outdoor worship services for the homeless.
and her husband, John, are delighted to be returning to Boston, and look forward to connecting even more closely with their worldwide church family.
I also am glad to see Robin Hoagland
join the Board as I have followed her
inspiring thoughts thru Facebook articles.
A hearty welcome to Robin Hoagland
whose Lectures and Daily Lifts
are a great resource for my work in a Christian Science
Thank you both for your dedicated service.
The replacement of Mary Trammell with Robin Hoagland
fulfill this great commission by the Boards.
thank Mary for her dedications to the Boards during the years and welcome Mrs. Hoagland
to the new assignment.
How fortunate we have been in Queensland, Australia, to have been blessed by both Mary during the visit here in 2007 by the Board of Directors, and in 2010 by Robin
on the occasion of her
lecture at Gatton following the floods at Grantham.
The 2007 visit from the Board was marked by the joy of being able to share Sunday Service online; and the early days of ChristianScience.com
by those living in remote rural areas.
Robin's lecture coincided with the Easter Gathering of Young Christian Scientists in Victoria, and we were so grateful for her
lecture at Gatton attended by a number of those who had been affected by the flooding of the Lockyer Valley.
Mary's last triumph was JSHonline which has resulted in so many articles and audios being available to the world.
We so appreciated her unselfed service to the world community and will ever be grateful for having met Mary and Robin
during their visits.
