In 1997, arthritis caused both of her
knees to blow out and forced her
into early retirement.As an extremely independent and mobile person, it was hard for Robin
to adjust to no longer being able to rely on just herself.She
had to fight with her
insurance company for disability payments; even though she
had a policy, they would not release payments until she
could prove that she
was disabled for seven months.Robin
ultimately pulled through because of the assistance of her
community, and social welfare programs.

Robin Ghormley of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement stresses that the gap between rich and poor must be closed.
She wants to know how he will achieve that goal.
"We have lost balance in this country," he
says special interests have been driving the agenda for too long.
"They will not work in my White House and they will not drown out the voices of the American people."
Obama said he
will rollback the George W. Bush tax cuts and that he
will close tax loopholes for companies who set up business outside of our nation.
