Dr. Roberto H. Parada PhD(Psych) is an experienced psychologist who specialises in assisting children, adolescents and their families. A full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), and the International Early Psychosis Association (IEPS). Roberto works with Student services at Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta, a Clinician at the Hills Clinic, and is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Sydney.
Roberto has a background in Education and Psychology. He has worked in child and adolescent psychiatry, in school systems, and with parents and teachers in the implementation of anti-bullying and mental health interventions. As researcher at the University of Western Sydney he has designed and evaluated the implementation of a highly successful whole-school anti-bullying intervention.
Dr Parada has published book chapters, scientific papers and presented at international and national scientific conferences in the areas of psychometrics, parenting skills training, population based interventions, bullying, and child and adolescent mental health. His research has also been featured in Teacher Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Telegraph, The Western Australian, Channel 7, SBS television and ABC and commercial radio. He has also authored a number of psychometric instruments to assess peer relations, locus of control, self-concept, and other psychological domains. The Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument was recently chosen by the Centre for Disease Control (USA) to be included as a recommended measure for epidemiological studies in bullying.
