Roberta Mills, MSN Heads Patient Care ServicesUT Bowld Hospital recently appointed Roberta Mills, M.S.N., Administrator, Patient Care Services.She succeeds Sallie Powell, R.N., who served as Acting Administrator since the departure of Mary Oelman last year.Ms. Mills comes to UT Bowld from the Visiting Nurse Association, where she served as President for the past seven years.No stranger to UT, Ms. Mills was Associate Director of Nursing Service for UT, City of Memphis Hospitals from 1977-1980.She later served as Director of Nursing Administrative Services at Baptist Memorial Hospital.Her experience also includes nursing supervisory positions at Memphis' Methodist Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis.A graduate of Sacred Heart Dominican College in Houston, she completed her Master of Science in nursing at St. Louis University.In 1992, Ms. Mills became the first female Brigadier General in the history of the National Guard and was awarded the Governor's Outstanding Tennessean Award.She went on to become the National Guard's first female Major General two years later.Ms. Mills is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Association of Air National Guard Nurses, and the ANA Council of Nursing Service Administrators.return to top.Ms. VanHoozer has worked closely with Hospital administration, including Rob Nolly, Roberta Mills, and Sallie Powell, concerning the direction of the new responsibilities.
