Robert Yambar, of Mail Handlers Union Local 304 in Youngstown, said the USPS was disingenuous in its claims that it would work with the unions to secure jobs.
Yambar said he recently received a letter from the USPS notifying him that nine employees were being laid off. Yambar said that the collective bargaining agreement requires that management meet with him and other union officials to discuss options before eliminating jobs. "But they're standing here trying to tell these people that they're working with the unions, and they're not. They're lying," he said.
