In 2007, SORA training was mandated for all contract security positions throughout New Jersey.
SORA training consists of a 3-step process completed over 30 days and includes fingerprinting and registration with the New Jersey State Police.

Attorney General's Use of Force Policy, Terrorism Awareness, Cargo Theft, and Security Measures: Prevention and Deterrence, New Jersey's Critical Infrastructure Awareness, Suspicious Letters and Packages, First Aid Awareness, Incident Command System, Ethics, Report Writing, Street Gangs, Suicide Bombers and Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices

Prior to his current position, he had been the Vice President of a prominent New York based security company for six years where he was responsible for the daily operations of the firm's contracts in New Jersey, overseeing major government and private contracts.
Mr. Wise's heart turned to public service and he joined the Newark Police Department in 1981.
He was presented with the Pride Award and received numerous merit awards before graduating from the Newark Police Academy.

assignment to Newark's South Ward, Mr. Wise
earned the rank of Detective.

After earning advancement to the rank of Sergeant, Mr. Wise was assigned to the Police Director's Office as an aide, partnering with the former Newark Police Director Joseph Santiago to successfully improve the quality of life for Newark citizens.
Mr. Wise was later asked to lead the Dignitary Protection Unit, where his numerous responsibilities included transportation and security for Mayor Sharpe James, the Police Director, and the City Hall complex.
also coordinated presidential, gubernatorial, and papal visits with various law enforcement agencies including the Secret Service

, and other county and local municipalities.
This assignment entailed conducting security assessments and developing standard operating procedures for the advance team for the Dignitary Protection Unit.
Working in the private sector Mr. Wise
supervised and acted as the main point of contact with clients for several public and private school contracts which included coordinating their Vulnerability / Threat / Hazards Assessments Process.
Mr. Wise was the Director of Security at Newark Symphony Hall and Security Investigator for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
After a successful and rewarding career Mr. Wise retired at the rank of Lieutenant from the Newark Police Department in 2007.
