Robert K. Villa
has an active trial and appellate practice representing foreign and domestic clients in a wide range of commercial and business practice disputes.These include defending and prosecuting claims involving contracts, licensing agreements, shareholder and employment agreements, deceptive practices and class actions.As a member of the firm's consumer and financial services practice, Mr. Villa
defends banks and other financial services companies in various consumer financial services disputes, including class actions.Mr. Villa
also actively represents the firm's insurance clients in nationwide coverage litigation and in adversary proceedings before the federal bankruptcy courts.After graduating from law school, Mr. Villa served as a prosecutor with the Illinois Attorney General's Criminal Appeals Division.He
has extensive experience briefing and arguing over 50 cases involving complex statutory and constitutional matters before the Illinois Supreme and Appellate Courts, the United States Court of Appeals
for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Courts of Illinois.
In addition to his
work in Illinois, Mr. Villa
has litigated cases before the state and federal courts of New York, Florida, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Louisiana, Wisconsin and Indiana.
