Christian Educator Perturbed by NEA's Post-Sept. 11 Stance : Dr. Robert Simonds, president of the National Association of Christian Educators, says American schoolchildren should be warned about the severe threat that Islam poses to their country. "We are at war with the Muslims. We are at war with right and wrong. We are at war with evil. And we are war with that Islamic religion because that's the religion that specifically names the Jew and the Christians to be destroyed," Simonds says.

05/27/05: Get Out The Vote effort, fundie style! "When the powers of this form of government are ever turned over to the party of the openly "irrational," we will no longer be governed as free men. When we Christians complain that our congress and state legislatures are irresponsible tax-and-spend immoralists, who are not accountable to the people anymore, we risk exposing our Christian reputations to hypocrisy by being openly unaccountable to God by not caring enough to get the Christian vote out! Pastors and Christians are responsible to evangelize and impact our culture and our society for Christ. This can also be done in America, through voting."

Biblical scholars Robert and Mary Coote clearly show in their book Power, Politics and the Making of the Bible that neither is Christianity a patched up Judaism, nor is Rabbinic Judaism automatically synonymous with the religion of Moses and the old Hebrews.
concludes, like Robert and Mary Coote, that the Greek word "Ioudaioi" in the New Testament should be translated as "Judeans", rather than the more usual "Jews".
Robert Simonds, head of the National Association of Christian Educators, a group dedicated to electing candidates who hold "Judeo-Christian" values to school boards, writes, "America is great because devout Christians and courageous politicians have used biblical values to shape our political institutions.""America," he adds "is not the product of secular humanism, atheism, or any other false religion.America is the fruit of God's eternal truth in Christ, the Ten Commandments...."
When speaking exclusively to Christians, however, Simonds drops the "Judeo": "The Christian religion (the Bible) is the basis for all morality (right and wrong)."
In 1989, the Reverend Pat Robertson formed a powerful new political organization.Although he continually preaches on "Judeo-Christian values," he named his group the "Christian Coalition," not the Judeo-Christian Coalition.

Success at the local level has been used as a springboard to national power, said Robert Simonds, president of California-based Citizens for Excellence in Education; the group, which helped train the first wave of Christian conservative candidates, recently has lobbied for the withdrawal of Christians from the "secularist" public school system.
"It's like an athlete," Simonds said.
