Pavlik, Ed.D., SDDC DirectorDr. Pavlik directs the School Design and Development Center (SDDC) within the Institute for the Transformation of Learning.He and his staff collaborate with hundreds of local educators and other community leaders to build and launch new schools as well as to improve existing schools.Bob Pavlik earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his Master's degree and Doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado.His career as a high school teacher, university administrator, and national consultant spans thirty-five years.He has authored and edited over 200 books for K-12 students.Dr. Pavlik is a futurist, studying how organizations and people change.He helps schools recognize and adapt to the changes in our world.While on sabbatical during the 1992-93 school year, Dr. Pavlik renewed his K-12 teaching experiences by applying Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences.In May of 2000, he retired from Cardinal Stritch University after 20 years of service as a professor of education and director of faculty development.

Dr. Robert Pavlik Dr. Bob Pavlik's career in education spans 42 years.He served as a high school English Teacher in Waukesha and Lake Geneva; Associate Professor of Education and Director of the Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum Program at the University of Northern Colorado; Professor and Chair of Reading/Language Arts and Director of Faculty Development at Cardinal Stritch University.For the last 11 years, Dr. Pavlik has been the Director of the School Development Center at the Institute for the Transformation of Learning/Marquette University. He earned his Bachelor's degree in English/Theatre from UW-Whitewater and his Master's and Doctorate in literacy/curriculum and instruction from the University of Northern Colorado.His dissertation won an Outstanding Dissertation Award from the International Reading Association (Colorado Council) in 1974.Since 1979, Dr. Pavlik has written, co-authored, and edited over 200 books for K-12 students.The Great Source Company published his Sourcebooks in 2000 for students in grades 6-12 that develop reading-writing strategies for studying literature selections from diverse cultures. He facilitates the work of the ITL Accreditation Board, which has nearly 20 Candidate Schools. Other responsibilities include managing the Pilot Project for Community Transformation, which provides programs to support the work of community builders, teaching a graduate course in Sustainable Futures and developing curriculum in Sustainable Futures for K-12 schools. Dr. Pavlik's career as a teacher, college professor, director of faculty development, administrator and textbook author spans 43 years. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his Master's and Doctoral degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. He taught English and reading in the Waukesha and Lake Geneva School Districts for a total of seven years and at the University of Northern Colorado, Cardinal Stritch University, and Marquette University for 36 years.
