Boston Scientific Announces Appointment of Robert Graziadei, M.D., to Position of Corporate Medical Director VP of Clinical Affairs
Natick, MA (June 19, 2000)- Boston Scientific Corporation
(NYSE:BSX) announced today the appointment of Robert Graziadei, M.D., to the newly created position of Corporate Medical Director/Vice President of Clinical Affairs.Dr. Graziadei
will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the company's worldwide practices, policies and processes for medical and clinical affairs.His
principal focus will be improving the company's clinical trials strategy in order to increase the speed of new product development.He
will be closely involved in the development of the company's product submission strategies involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
and other regulatory agencies.His
appointment is part of an ongoing initiative by President and CEO Jim Tobin to increase the company's focus on new product development.Dr. Graziadei
will report to Kshitij Mohan, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President.

is a general, vascular and laparoendoscopic surgeon with extensive experience in medical device design and development.Previously, he was Vice President, Global Medical Affairs and Research and Development, for Tyco International Health Care Group.
In that capacity he
directed all activities associated with medical device design and development, as well as pre-clinical in vivo evaluations and global device safety surveillance for medical and surgical products.Prior to Tyco, he served as Vice President, Global Medical Affairs for Sherwood-Davis and Geck/American Home Products, with similar responsibilities.Dr. Graziadei
is a Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude graduate of Boston College
.He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.He completed his residency in General and Vascular Surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident.Dr. Graziadei is board certified in surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.From 1982 to 1987 he served as a clinical instructor in surgery at the Albany Medical Center.He was a practicing surgeon at the Middlesex (CT) Hospital and Middlesex Surgical Center from 1987 to 1993, where he developed the minimally invasive surgery program.Dr. Graziadei
