has gone from varnishing kitchen cabinets in one of Boys' Haven's residential cottages to serving as a new member of its Board of Trustees.
That first campus visit as a volunteer from General Electric
some 15 years ago made a lasting impression, he
says."The grounds looked safe and friendly.I met some of the boys, who were happy and pleased to be there.I saw a diversity of opportunities."Now, as a trustee, Mr. Clark says he would like to see some new opportunities develop for the boys, specifically in the area of vocational training.
"I believe a vocational apprentice program, a vocational association with technical schools, is critical for Boys' Haven's future," he
says.A GE employee for 32 years, Mr. Clark is the retired Manager of Business Development for the SmartWater division of GE Appliances.He has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and an MBA from Indiana University.He
is a Navy, Viet Nam vet.Mr. Clark's volunteer credits include Habitat for Humanity and the GE Elfun Volunteers, for whom he is a past National President.
