Robert G. Bolton, FSA, EA, a native of Baltimore, MD, is a senior actuary and President of Bolton Partners, Inc.
Bob attended Mt. St. Joseph High School in Baltimore and graduated with a mathematics degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1970.
Bob got his actuarial foundation at the Baltimore Life Insurance Company, where he was supervisor of the actuarial department.
He moved into the benefit field in 1973 and by the late '70s became executive vice president at Herget Companies, where he was responsible for all actuarial services provided by the Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Denver, and Miami offices.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (1981), a Fellow of the Conference on Consulting Actuaries (1982), an Enrolled Actuary (1976), and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Bob formed Bolton & Associates Actuarial Consultants (now Bolton Partners, Inc.) in 1981.
extensive public sector experience includes valuations, funding and experience analysis, projection valuations, benefit design, union negotiations, arbitrations, and legislation.
Bob's public sector experience began in 1973.
From 1974 to 1978 he
served as actuary for the Baltimore City Pension Study Commission
under Mayor William Donald Schaefer.
Bob continues to serve as an actuarial consultant in the public sector, particularly in Florida.
Bob has served on the American Academy of Actuaries Pension Committee as well as its Multi-Employer Plan Sub-Committee and its Admissions Committee.
He also served on the Society of Actuaries Discipline Committee.
