Robert Barkin served as interim executive vice president of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation (JRF) from 2010-2012. From 2006 until 2012, he was president of the JRF, after serving as a member of its Board of Directors since 1998. Prior to becoming a member of the JRF Board of Directors, Robert was the president of Adat Shalom in Bethesda, MD.
Professionally, Robert is President of Arkos Group, a marketing communications firm, with a specialty in positioning financial services and nonprofit organizations. Prior to moving to Washington, he was Manager of Benefit Communications for Knight-Ridder, Inc. For 15 years, he was a journalist with a number of newspapers. Robert and his wife, Cathy (a journalist), live in Bethesda with their two daughters, Emily and Lena. Robert is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and the University of Miami School of Business.

Robert Barkin, Vice President and Executive Director
Robert Barkin is a professional with experience in communications and management. He is currently a partner in T3np (www.T3np.com), which provides management services to nonprofit organizations. He also is president of Arkos Group (www.arkosgroup.com), where he assists for-profit organizations in their communications strategy.
From August 2010 until April 2012, he was the interim executive vice president of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, the congregational arm of the Reconstructionist movement.
