E-mail: Rob Powell for more information.
That man is Rob Powell
is now the 4 Time World Record Holder and 4 Time World Fitness Champion.
Guinness even had to change the name of the event, because Coach Rob Powell, kept shattering, not only Decker's record, but even his own, by 2 Hours, 5 Hours, and even 6 Hours.
This was accomplished, even after adding a multitude of distances, weights and disciplines, to the former World Record.
had even asked Rob Powell
, after his
2001 World Record, to agree to stop increasing the events, for the safety of future athletes.
asked him to make the event a race for time, and Rob
then asked Rob
to write the rules, and they are as follows....
Rules and Events for Guinness World Record® set by Rob Powell
These events were performed by Rob Powell
, first on October 27-28, 2001, in 22:11:40, SHATTERING Decker's World Record.
did it again on October 26-27, 2002, in 19:17:38, SHATTERING his
own World Record by nearly 3 Hours.
has even created a new sport, The World Fitness Championships
, which has been recognized by Guinness World Records®, as published by ''Men's Fitness UK'', March 2004, and ''The Dallas Morning News''
, October 30, 2004, even though Rob
never applied for recognition.
When asked why, Rob
said, '' Guinness
is a fine, and outstanding publication.
However, athletics and fitness are not their field of expertise.
They allow push-ups/press-ups, weights lifted, ect..., at a much less acceptable level than the WFC
That is why we train and certify our own officials.
We also have the WFC Archives, as an Internationally Recognized Source for World Records, for the World Fitness Championships
, and The World Fitness Challenge''.
In fact, Rob Powell
has over 150 Course and World Records, in the fields of Fitness, Running, Swimming, Cycling, Climbing, Hiking, Calisthenics, Weight Lifting, Rowing, Track and Field, Triathlons, and Martial Arts.
When asked why he
never applied for Guinness recognition, he
replied, ''I don't want to be known as a 'genetic freak of nature'.
