Rita Cossa Rita Cossa is an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Management area in the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University. A faculty member since 1999, she teaches Business Environment & Organization and Business Policy & Strategic Management. Rita has also taught introduction to marketing courses at both the undergraduate and MBA levels, as well as Marketing in the Non-Profit Sector. Teaching highlights include a nomination to TVOntario's Best Lecturer Competition, multiple nominations for a McMaster Student Union Teaching Award, and notations in the Maclean's Guide to Canadian Universities as a Popular Prof for Marketing. Rita is a co-author for Understanding Canadian Business, Seventh Edition, the best-selling introduction to business textbook in the Canadian university and college market. Past publications include student and instructor supplements such as marketing study guides, running cases, and test banks. Prior to her teaching career, Rita held several management-level positions in the financial services industry.

Assistant Professor Strategic Management Rita Cossa Professor Cossa teaches Business Environment & Organization to both Commerce and non-Commerce students, as well as Business Policy & Strategic Management, a capstone case-based course. She has taught introduction to marketing courses in both undergraduate (Bachelor of Commerce) and graduate (Master of Business Administration and Master of Communications Management) programs. Teaching highlights include a nomination to TVO's Best Lecturer Competition, multiple nominations for a McMaster Student Union Teaching Award, and notations in the Maclean's Guide to Canadian Universities as a Popular Prof for Marketing. Prior to her teaching career, Professor Cossa held management-level positions in the financial services industry. Professor Cossa has co-authored five editions of Understanding Canadian Business, a best-selling introduction to business textbook. Earlier publications include student and instructor supplements such as marketing study guides, running cases, and test banks. In recognition of her service, Professor Cossa was honoured as McMaster University's Volunteer of the Month (August 2012). She continues to contribute to various Faculty and University committees. She also serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education (JAME) and is a reviewer for the Marketing Education Review.

Rita Cossa, Lecturer, Michael G. DeGroote School of Business Rita CossaRita Cossa has been a lecturer at McMaster since 1999 and teaches level one and two courses in the Faculty of Business.After graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree, she pursued a career in the financial services industry.With her staff, she developed and implemented strategic and marketing initiatives.During this time, her love of learning brought her to McMaster where she received her MBA with a marketing focus.She now has her "dream job" housed in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business. This three time nominee for the McMaster Student Union teaching award has coauthored the number one Canadian introduction to business textbook for university and college students (Understanding Canadian Business, 4th Edition).She is liked by her students who know her to be tough but fair, and approachable.She believes that university is a great experience for students and she strongly encourages students to get to know their professors and establish connections with them. When she isn't involved in writing the next edition of her textbook, she is spending her free time with her husband Stephen and their one year old daughter, Mattia.
