Riley Saito has been with SunPower Corporation, Systems, formally known as PowerLight Corporation. in the State of Hawai'i since 2004, and has been actively involved with the Hawai'i Energy Policy Forum, Hawai'i Renewable Energy Alliance, and overall business development of commercial-scale photovoltaic systems in Hawai'i. Riley's involvement with renewable energy began prior to his position with Mauna Lani Resort as a Vice President and Corporate Controller. He championed the resorts' renewable energy initiatives, which resulted in the first commercially funded PV system in the USA, (1998 90 kWp - rooftop of Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows) along with five subsequent PV arrays totaling 675kWp. Responsibilities included a diversity of areas outside of finance department including Resort Marketing, Information Technology, and product/service development for the resort. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in Travel Industry Management. He has served as Big Island Group, President, (destination marketing coop), Big Island Festival Chairman, Kona Village Design Commissioner, and serves on the Board of Directors, Friends of NELHA.

Riley has been with SunPower Corporation, Systems, (formally known as PowerLight Corporation) in the State of Hawai`i since 2004 and has been actively involved with the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, Solar Alliance Representative in PUC dockets, legislative policy shaping, and overall business development for residential/commercial/utility PV systems via the Hawaii Renewable Energy Alliance and Hawai`i PV Coalition. Riley has been involved with utility integrated PV systems over the past 13 years. 1998 - Mauna Lani Resort - first PV interconnection agreement in the State, 2008 - Lanai La 'ola Solar Farm - first integrated utility controlled interface with large scale PV penetration, 2011- HECO managed RFP - first executed PPA for PV system. He serves as a Kailua-Kona Village Design Commissioner, and on the Board of Directors, Friends of NELHA, a non-profit entity that provides community educational outreach regarding renewable energy. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawai`i, Manoa, in Travel Industry Management.
