Idaho Falls, ID - Rickie Orchin Brady, vice president of the Post Company, announced on Friday that an agreement has been signed between The Post Company and News-Press & Gazette Company of St. Joseph, Missouri, to sell KIFI Local News 8.
Application for transfer of ownership will be filed with the FCC
on Monday, May 2, 2005.The Post Company
will retain the Post Register of Idaho Falls, and only the television station known as KIFI Local News 8
will be sold.The FCC
will have a period of 90 days to process the filings before the transfer of ownership is final.Rickie Orchin Brady will retain her role as general manager of KIFI Local News 8 until the closing of the transaction, based upon FCC approval.Ms. Brady then will resign as general manager of KIFI Local News 8.
"It has become increasingly difficult for a stand-alone television station to be competitive with group-owned stations.It seemed to be time for Local News 8
to become part of a group.Many companies have pursued purchasing our station, but we chose to work with News-Press & Gazette Company
because of their commitment to local news and local communities," said Brady
