Rick Friedman, Senior Director of Technology Commercialization, USC Stevens Center for Innovation
As Senior Director of Technology Commercialization for the USC Stevens Center for Innovation, Mr. Friedman leads a team of licensing professionals to identify and help commercialize promising technologies emerging from the $500M+ research performed at the University of Southern California each year.
The technology commercialization team fosters university relationships with the private sector, identifies qualified companies, investors and entrepreneurs to collaborate with the university and commercialize university technologies, streamlines the process for doing business with the university, and provides programs and services to ready university technologies for commercialization.
Mr. Friedman has over 25 years professional experience in industry and academia establishing business relationships that support the commercial development of early stage technologies.
His past rolls include serving as a partner in the corporate and securities practice at a Silicon Valley law firm, Vice President and General Counsel of pcOrder.com, and Associate Director, Licensing of UT Austin's Office of Technology Commercialization.
Rick received his BA from the University of Rochester, JD from the University of Chicago and MBA from UT Austin.
