Richard Wil Startzman, director of CineVision Productions, holds a Masters of Arts degree in Visual Anthropology from
The Anthropology Film Center in Santa Fe associated with the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania. He has produced over 500 television commercials, dozens of corporate identity films, over 100 films on the art of dance, recorded over 1500 lectures from visionaries around the world and created a number of controversial documentaries since 1975. He is the producer of the largest library of films on the subject of consciousness and the human experience through The Message Company and The Visionarys DVD Club ( a monthly DVD magazine). CineVision Productions, has won 21 National Awards for production excellence during its 35-year history. Among the awards are the AXIEM Award 2000 for the nations best video documentary entitled: "The Silence of Cricket Coogler: A Political Murder". Two awards: (2002 Telly Awards and The Videographers Award for "Gulf War Syndrome: Aftermath of a Toxic Battlefield". The American Medical Association's "Golden Laparoscope Award" for the best medical video of the year (won in 1997). The U.S. Department of Energy's Award for Best Energy Education Promotion (BEEP Awards) was won by director Richard Startzman for CineVision's "Building in the Sun", the top honors of all 50 states, produced for the State of New Mexico, in 1993. A first place Addy Award for editing an informational video entitled "Las Vegas, New Mexico Promotional Video" in 1992 as well as many others. Richard was Curator/Photo Archivist for the State of Arizona at NAU, Flagstaff, AZ. for four years during the nineteen seventies preserving and cataloging over 2.5 million photographs of the Emory Kolb Collection, one of the nations largest historical photographic collections. Richard then became the Director of News & Film productions at NBC affiliate KOAI-TV, covering the Navajo/Hopi land dispute for regional and national TV for six years. As a visual anthropologist and filmmaker, Richard has had a close relationship with The Museum of New Mexico.
