Richard B. SperoniSalesmanRichard B. Speroni, 48, a former sales manager who last year started Freedom Payroll Inc., a payroll services company, died of cancer Dec. 23 at his home in McLean.Mr. Speroni
was born in Texas and raised in Arlington and in McLean.He graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington and was a 1976 business-administration graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.He began his career in the computer hardware and services industry as a salesman and sales manager.
Among the companies for whom he
worked were Burroughs Corp.
, Diebold Inc.
lifelong passion was baseball.He
was a pitcher on the varsity Washington-Lee High School team, and he
played first base for the National Adult Baseball Association Fast Pitch Over-40 Leagues.
Survivors include his
wife, Elena B. Speroni, and a daughter, Lauren Jenna Speroni, both of McLean; his
father, Joseph M., of Stuart, Fla.; and five brothers, Robert S., of Herndon, Steven J., of Ashburn, Paul J., of McLean, David M., of Washington, and Joseph F., of Arlington.
