In addition to the regular seminars , a special two-hour keynote presentation by Dr. Richard J. Naskali
of the University of Idaho
will be held Thursday , Aug. 21 from 7-9 p.m..Dr. Naskali's session , European Gardens : Inspiration , Ideas And New Plants , is free and open to the public.It will be a colorful illustration of the history of gardening in the western hemisphere , featuring special selections from thousands of slides he
has taken during eight trips to Europe.Dr. Naskali
will interweave our heritage from European gardens in terms of plant exploration , plant introduction and garden design.He
has been involved with the planning of the University of Idaho Arboretum
and Botanical Garden and now oversees the reclamation of UI's Charles Houston Shattuck Arboretum.
Cost of the seminars is $25 for a single session or $50 for all three days , if registered prior to Aug. 5. Thereafter , the cost rises to $35 for a single session or $70 for all three.Seminar cost also includes admission to the Farwest Show
and allows attendees to move freely among any of the five seminar sessions that run simultaneously.
