NFU Cymru Glamorgan County Vice Chairman, Richard Isaac, hosted the visit by the two local AMs on his farm in Ynysybwl near Pontypridd.
He told them, "We are grateful to the Assembly Government for once again promptly getting single farm payments out to the majority of Welsh farmers, but there are a large number of farmers who have yet to receive their payments and these are largely being held up by delays on cross checks on agri-environment schemes and farm inspections. Mr Isaac, a beef and sheep farmer, said it had been a very difficult and challenging year for livestock farmers. He told the Assembly Members, "Wales is very dependent on livestock farming and the sheep sector, in particular, has been badly hit by the outbreak of Foot and Mouth.
