Richard Heriford Joins Landscape Architecture Foundation Board of Directors
Kalamazoo, MI- December 12, 2014 - Landscape Forms proudly announces the election of its President, Richard Heriford, to the Board of Directors of the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF).
The Washington DC-based organization was founded nearly a half century ago to support the preservation, improvement and enhancement of the environment and is today the nexus of inquiry and innovation for the landscape architecture profession.
invests in research to solve the complex, interrelated environmental, economic, and social problems central to achieving sustainability; supports scholarships for outstanding students to cultivate the next generation of sustainability leaders; and provides leadership in strengthening the profession to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
Heriford joins a distinguished group of landscape architects, professionals from allied design disciplines and business leaders in LAF board service.
An architect by profession, he is a graduate of Kansas State University, School of Architecture and Design who spent his early career in architecture in Kansas City and Dallas.
For more than 30 years he
has held key positions with major companies in the contract and site furniture industries, including SunarHauserman, where as manager of showroom design he
implemented new showrooms by Michael Graves and Frank Gehry; Hon Industries, where he
assisted in the merger of Corry Jamestown and Hiebert
and the transitioning of CorryHiebert into The Gunlock Company; and Allsteel, where he
completed a major restructuring and return to profitability in 1997, when the company was acquired by Hon.
Heriford joined Landscape Forms in 2000 as Vice President and member of the Executive Team managing Sales and Marketing and was named President in September 2011.
has been a key player in developing the strategy for growth that has made Landscape Forms
the global premium brand for site furniture and lighting products.
