Richard D. Clover, MD, FAAFPRichard D. Clover, MD, FAAFP is Dean of the School of Public Health and Information Sciences at the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center in Louisville, Kentucky.He also serves as Co-Director of the Center for the Deterrence of Biowarfare and Bioterrorism, in addition to being Associate Vice President for Health Information Sciences.Dr. Clover earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, where he fulfilled his internship and completed his residency at the Enid Family Medicine Clinic.
While at the University of Oklahoma
received a Fellowship from the Infectious Diseases Division of the Department of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine and was "Teacher of the Year" for the Department of Family Medicine from 1989-1990.Dr. Clover is currently a member of the Strategic Technology Executive Committee at the University of Louisville, where he also serves on the President's Executive Cabinet.His
memberships to national associations include the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases Continuing Medical Education Committee
, the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Gulf War
and Health: Infectious Diseases, and the Board of Directors for the American Board of Family Practice
.Dr. Clover also served on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for the Centers for Disease Control as a Liaison Representative for the American Academy of Family Physicians, where he is a Fellow.Dr. Clover
has published in several peer review journals, including American Family Physician, American Journal of Public Health, The Journal of Family Practice, The Journal of Infectious Diseases
, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Pediatrics.
