Whenever there's been a task to perform, the residents of Sugar Hill have always been able to count on the Aldriches, said Dick Bielefield, who chairs the town's Board of Selectmen. "Roger's been the godfather of this town since the beginning," Bielefield said."He was instrumental in incorporating the town, and I believe he will continue to be a part of the management of this town until he draws his last breath." Some of Roger's contributions to the town are: selectman for 25 years, volunteer fireman for 40, past president of the Sugar Hill Improvement Association, and chair of a committee that fought in court and the state Legislature to incorporate the town.He also served as a member of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment, and is presently the town's moderator.
