Rhonda Johnston, PhD, CFNP, CANP
Rhonda Johnston graduated from Colorado State University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Post Secondary administration from Colorado State University - Fort Collins.
She also earned a Master of Science from the University of Colorado.
She received a post master certificate from the University of Colorado as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner.
She currently is the Director of Clinical Video Telehealth Training and Education National Training Center for the Veteran's Health Administration's (VHA) Office of Telehealth Services.
is responsible for the development, deployment of education, training and resources for VHA
staff and clinicians who provide care using telehealth technology.
also is a practitioner in a very busy Veterans Administration Telehealth Clinic serving rural veterans.
has spent her
career in both academia and clinical practice.
She has extensive experience in teaching and administration in nursing and higher education in primarily public institutions.
has served in nursing education from practical nursing to graduate education.
After spending over 30 years as a professor and she held the position of Department Chair at Colorado State University - Pueblo.
has always balanced her
clinician role with her
Previous work experience ranges from staff nurse to administrator in a regional medical center.
Professional activities have included serving as Vice President of the Colorado Association of School-Based Health Care and member of the Colorado State Board of Nursing Educators' Council.
Of the many programs she
has developed and managed the one most rewarding was the School-Based Wellness Center's
Program sponsored by Parkview Medical Center
in Pueblo, Colorado for School District #60.
