Dr. Reid Strieby, Professor of Social Science at Bronx Community College (BCC), is the Co-Director of the Energy Services and Technology (EST) program at BCC, Senior Associate in the BCC Center for Sustainable Energy and a Core Member of the CUNY Task Force on Sustainability.
He has been actively involved in community education and training outreach activities in the Bronx for over 30 years. In addition, he is a Board Member of the Community Advisory Board at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Hispanic Community Health Study, Board of Directors and Founding Member of Health People and Senior Associate at the NOAA CREST Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing, City University of New York. Mr. Strieby works as a special assistant to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at BCC, where his principal responsibilities are new program development and proposal development.

"This is the first workshop of its type to ever be conducted in New York City," said Dr. Reid Strieby, a Senior Associate at BCC's Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), who hosted this event.
Strieby and Dr. James Quigley, Acting Director of BCC's CSE are planning additional hands-on workshops for Bronx high and middle school teachers that explore the advantages of solar energy, hydrogen fuel cells and alternate fuel vehicles.

Reid Strieby reid.streiby@bcc.cuny.edu Reid Strieby, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology at Bronx Community College and Adjunct Professor in the NOAA CREST program, Cooperative Remote Sensing Service and Technology Center, City College of New York, CUNY. Dr. Strieby is also the P.I. on the Environmental Entrepreneurship program at BCC sponsored by NOAA. He has also served as P.I. on the Energy Services Technology project at BCC sponsored by DOE/PETE and as Co-Director of the Environmental Technology program at BCC. Dr. Reid Strieby directs the NYC Youth-in-the Environment program sponsored by the EPA (Region II) and the NYC/DEP. He was selected to become an ATTEC Fellow in the summer of 1999 (Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center) sponsored by NSF. In the past, he has directed the Tech Prep program at the college and coordinated the committee on Allied Health programs.
