Reed Glidden, Persistent Entreprenuer, President and Founder of Beanfields.
It was 1989 when I teamed up with my older brother Reed to start Choice Sales and Marketing in Chicago.
In January of 2011 I re-joined my brother Reed along with his wife (my sister-in-law) Liza Braude-Glidden to start Beanfields.
My brother Reed and I are also great friends, adventure partners and have a natural "Mutt and Jeff" type routine we've been doing for decades. We enjoy visiting natural foods stores, seeing what's new, talking to people, and finding out what they're thinking. We make friends with management, staff and customers. Our "Mutt and Jeff" routine has grown into a hands-on, in-store approach to sales. I've helped create one of the most engaged and extensive consumer events and in-store demo program of any healthier snack company. Reed and I saw early on that as soon as people taste our chips and hear the story, they want to buy them and many become devoted fans.

"Without proper GMO labeling, it is becoming increasingly difficult for food manufacturers to determine if their ingredients are non-GMO," said Reed Glidden, Founder and President of Beanfields Snacks.

Reed Glidden, president and founder of Beanfields LLC, is also the president and founder of Choice Sales and Marketing, a 22 year old premier independent natural food sales and marketing company serving California and adjacent markets, with special expertise in start-up brands. A sixteen-year member of The Social Venture Network, Reed's bootstrapping background from the Alaska pipeline and his own construction business lends depth to his unique approach.
Reed has been associated with the Natural Foods industry for thirty-five years. He knows first-hand what consumers want in their snacks, and how high-quality snacks are made. With his experience and network of contacts, Reed decided to create a snack chip that did not contain corn. He had three goals in mind:
Reed assembled a passionate and knowledgeable team of advisors and experts, including farmers, bean processors, flavor specialists, and consumers.

Beanfields founder and president Reed Glidden said any nutritionist will tell consumer that a bowl of beans is a far superior alternative to snack chips made from corn or potatoes.
"Our job was to make beans into a crispy and delicious treat. Early consumer response from grown-ups, kids, and health experts alike has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic," Glidden added.

According to Reed Braude-Glidden, president of Beanfields, based in Los Angeles, one of the reasons people are turning to natural snacks with ingredients such as beans and rice is because they want a more filling, satisfying, healthier snack option. Made from wholesome, premium, black beans, navy beans and long grain rice grown in the U.S., Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips are Non-GMO verified, corn-free, gluten-free and come in four varieties: Unsalted, Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Pepper and Zesty Pico de Gallo.
"Parents feel good about giving their kids our fun-to-eat tortilla chips because beans are one of the world's most nutritionally complete foods," says Braude-Glidden.
He points out that the product, which is sold in 6-ounce packages, has more nutrition in the 6-ounce sized bag than conventional snack chips that come in larger sizes.
