Rebecca Young-Sletten, an art teacher at Bismarck High School, received recognition for her community service to Charles Hall Youth Services at their luncheon on May 12th.Rebecca inspired her students to paint suitcases for the BHS Foster Care suitcase project over the past 10 years.This project has grown to not only include the special hand-painted suitcase, but also items inside, such as home-made quilts, pillows, stuffed animals, shampoo, tooth paste and, more recently, books.With her students' help, Young-Sletten has contributed over 300 suitcases to children in the community.
