Mr. Saunders also serves as the district office manager for the Northrop Grumman Space Technology sector.
In this capacity, he
is responsible for the identification and development of new programs dealing with advanced space and laser technologies, subsystems and demonstrations.
is also the lead for external affairs on the Airborne Laser program, which is headquartered in Albuquerque.
Mr. Saunders joined Northrop Grumman in 2002 by way of the acquisition of TRW Inc.
At TRW, Mr. Saunders served as the Space and Electronics Group district office manager in Albuquerque, a position he assumed in 1996.
Previously, Mr. Saunders held technical and business development positions at Lockheed Martin and Science Applications International Corporation.
Mr. Saunders also served in the United States Air Force as a research and development and acquisition planning officer.
Mr. Saunders is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of New Mexico.
He is active in community service in Albuquerque, and has served on numerous local industry association and civic boards.
