If you remember our former pastor, Abbott Raphael Walsh
, you probably know that he
belongs to the Order of St. Benedict and lives in a monastery.
During a talk he
gave several years ago, he
quipped, "The best thing about religious life is … living in community.
The worst thing about religious life is … living in community."
In today's Gospel passage, Jesus says, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.
As Catholics, we are called to worship God not only as individuals but as parish communities.
While this is a source of many blessings, it also can present its share of trials, as Father Walsh
had pointed out with grace and humor.
