KOKRAJHAR, Feb 19 - A strong security vigil has been intensified to check any sort of infiltration or cross-border movement of militants along the India-Bangladesh border areas, said Ranjit Shankar Mushahary, Director General (DG), Border Security Force (BSF), here on Friday.
Talking to this correspondent, the BSF DG
said after visiting some sensitive areas along the India-Bangladesh Border recently strategies have been adopted for fool proof security along the border, he
said adding that efforts have already been taken to ensure that relations with the neighbouring countries remain intact and coordinated.
Replying to a question, the DG also said that one sub-inspector of BSF
has already been suspended and nineteen other BSF personnels have been detained in connection with an incident of violence of the Kamakhya Temple
in Guwahati recently.
A proper inquiry has also been initiated and necessary punishment and action would be taken up if any jawans are found guilty, he
The DG had arrived in Kokrajhar to attend the 4th Bodo Accord celebration held at Kokrajhar.He
also inaugurated a free medical health check up camp organised by BSF
native village in Odalguri under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district in which thousands of villagers received free medicine and health check up.
