Before that, he served as a vice president and market leader-overseeing operations for Baptist hospitals in Arkansas and West Tennessee.
A graduate of Dyersburg State Community College with an associate's degree in data processing, King later earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Christian Brothers University.
