Lehman hires Yanker to head fund of funds business
14/02/2002 In-HouseLehman Brothers Holdings' has appointed Randall S. Yanker as the first-ever managing director and CEO of Lehman Brothers Alternative Investment Management, the firm's fund of funds business. He
will be responsible for managing the joint venture with Ehrenkranz & Ehrenkranz, established in September 2001.
The venture entails Lehman marketing and distributing Ehrenkranz's fund of hedge funds to investors - funds that now hold over US$1.7 billion in total assets under management. Yanker
explained that: "The Lehman Brothers
and Ehrenkranz & Ehrenkranz platform represents a unique opportunity to build a leading alternative investment business by leveraging our combined experience, track record, balance sheet strength, infrastructure and global distribution capabilities." Before joining Lehman, Yanker was head of the New York-based advisory firm that he founded, Affiliated Alternative Management, responsible for advising institutions and sophisticated high net worth individuals on hedge fund investments.
Prior to starting his
own firm, he
was involved in the establishment of the alternative asset business at Swiss Bank Corp
, which is now part of UBS
