RAMESH BABU, PH.D.

Dr. Ramesh Babu is board-certified in clinical cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.
He completed his postgraduate training at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, receiving a Ph.D. in Biology.
Also holding a Masters in Business Administration, Dr, Babu's pre-doctoral education and training included two Master of Science degrees, in biology and human genetics, as well as a pre-doctoral fellowship performing research in leukemia cytogenetics at Andhra University
, Waltair, India.
Academically, he served as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California and a member of the Adjunct Faculty in the Clinical Genetics Program, California State University, Domingo Hills, California.
During the past 25 years, Dr. Babu held several important positions of trust and responsibility in the clinical cytogenetics arena, including; Director of International Cytogenetics, Specialty Laboratories International, Santa Monica, California; Director of Cytogenetics, Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute, San Juan Capistrano, California; and Associate Director of Cytogenetics, Medical Genetics and Birth Defects Center, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan.
A participant on several committees, he
has contributed as Chairman of the Solid Tumor Cytogenetics Subcommittee, South West Oncology Group
and as a member of the Cytogenetics Committee for the Pediatric Oncology Group
and the South West Oncology Group; and the Leukemia Task Force
, Henry Ford Hospital
research activities, funded by the National Institute of Health and Henry Ford Hospital
, were focused on cytogenetic and molecular genetic studies of bladder cancer.
A Founding Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics, Dr. Babu is actively involved in the American Society of Human Genetics and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
