Pastor Ralph E. Scharf
...Ralph E. Scharf was born May 19, 1942, the son of Rev. Erwin and Irene (nee Zarling) Scharf at Hartford, WI.He attended Zion Lutheran Grade School in Rhinelander, WI, Northwestern Preparatory School in Watertown, WI, graduated from Northwestern Lutheran College in 1964, and completed his preparation for the ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.He

in Winona, MN.
On graduation from the seminary in May of 1968, Pastor Scharf
was assigned to Gethsemane Ev.Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa where he served until 1974.
On September 15, 1974 he
was installed as Good Shepherd's fourth pastor.During his years here he has also served the church at large as Furlough Home Manager for the World Mission Board for 6 years, as Vice-chairman of the Wisconsin Lutheran High School Board of Directors for 8 years, as Secretary of the WELS Board of Trustees for 11 years, and presently as Chairman of the Board of Control of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.
In June 1994, the congregation gathered to praise our Lord and commemorate Pastor Scharf's
25 years (1968 - 1993) of faithful service.Pastor Scharf
was married to Annette L. Boldt on May 23, 1968.
...Mrs. Scharf was a WELS teacher who attended Milwaukee Lutheran Teachers' College and Dr. Martin Luther College, accepting an emergency call for one year at Zion Lutheran, a South Dakota mission.
