Spring ISD Superintendent Ralph H. Draper officially announced Thursday his intent to retire as of January 2015.
On Tuesday, the Spring ISD
Board of Trustees officially accepted Draper's resignation.
"Dr. Draper is a man of integrity, which can be witnessed by his early engagement of this board, regarding his intent to begin planning for his retirement,"said Rhonda Faust, Spring ISD Board president.
An agreement was met where Draper
will be allowed to pursue other interests, permitting the board to proceed in filling the role of superintendent.
Spring ISD Associate Superintendent Dalane Bouillion, for academics and administration, will serve as interim superintendent in the meantime.
"It has been my honor and privilege to serve this district and I thank both past and present board members for the opportunity," Draper
"I also thank the board, staff, parents and community members for their commitment to our children's success and their support of the district's programs and services during my time as superintendent."
Many board members expressed their appreciation of Draper's innovative programs and commitment to transforming public education to better meet the needs of 21st century students.
